Thanks for your patience as updates are being made.
Week of 3.22.21 - 3.25.21 (T4; Wk1)
Dear RA 7th Grade Math Parents,
Only 8 more weeks to go! 😁😁 We've got this! Thanks, as always, for all of your time and support you spend with your students as they work and learn on assignments and tasks from home. 🙂
Here's what we did this week! 👍🏼
Just So You Know … what we covered this week
What to Expect … in the coming week
Additional Practice … is what’s for homework
✳ i-Ready Weekly Homework: Your student will be expected to work on i-Ready lessons at home (due to limited chromebook availability at school), completing 45 minutes worth of math lessons per week. This should be equivalent to at least 2 or 3 lessons worth (depending on the pace your student works at).
Knowledge Checks … better known as test dates
Since we are wrapping up Chapter 6 (Equations & Inequalities), students will be reviewing and preparing for the Chapter 6 Assessment by the end of this upcoming week.
Just Because … we sometimes need reminders 😉
As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions, comments or concerns.
Sincerely,
Miss Chelsea Smith

Here's what we did this week! 👍🏼
Just So You Know … what we covered this week
- Monday: We did a final wrap-up of Lesson 6-5 (More Two-Step Equations), which focused on solving equations with parentheses (multiplication) on one side. Students were then given their lesson's assignment (listed in the 'Additional Practice' section below).
- Tuesday: After reviewing Monday's homework, students engaged in the start of their Mid-Chapter 6 Check.
- Wednesday: The class wrapped up the Mid-Chapter 6 Check before moving forward to Lesson 6-6 (Solve Inequalities by Addition or Subtraction).
- Thursday: The remainder of Wednesday's lesson took place, before students were given time to get started on their lesson's assignment (listed in the 'Additional Practice' section below).
What to Expect … in the coming week
- Lesson 6-7 (Solve Inequalities by Multiplication or Division): Students will use inverse operation properties to solve inequalities involving multiplication or division.
- Lesson 6-8 (Solve Two-Step Equations): Students model and solve two-step inequalities and represent their solutions on the number line.
- Chapter 6 Review: We will practice skills from the entire chapter, completing a Study Guide, and then will review it as a whole-class; students will be able to take home the Study Guide for studying purposes.
- (if time) Chapter 6 Assessment (Equations & Inequalities): This Chapter covers Lesson 6-1 through 6-8, covering skills based on all things revolving around equations and inequalities. Students will be tested on their ability to work with one-step addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division equations (with or without rational coefficients; i.e., fractions, decimals, etc.), solving two-step equations (with or without parentheses), solving inequalities involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, and solving two-step inequalities.
Additional Practice … is what’s for homework
- Monday: Lesson 6-5 Homework Practice (worksheet homework)
- Tuesday-Wednesday: i-Ready lesson(s) should be completed as homework (if not yet completed for the week). Your student can see 'i-Ready Weekly Expectations' within Google Classroom.
- Thursday: Lesson 6-6 Homework Practice (worksheet homework)
